The ranking indicators used to come up with the ranking were academic peer review, employer review, student-faculty ratio, citations per faculty member, international faculty, and international students.

For the first indicator, a survey was conducted to determine the quality of a school, according to academics. For the second indicator, employers were surveyed regarding the quality of the graduates of the schools. This indicator weighed 10% of the total score while the first weighed 40% of the total score. The fourth factor measured the amount of research done by faculty members. Citations involved referrals to work of the teachers that have been published. More citations indicated that the published work is outstanding.
