Masters and PhD Programs

Masters and PhD Programs Finally Find Their Way Online

You’re no doubt aware that online courses have become a part of the college experience.  And in the past few years, some traditional colleges and universities have added undergraduate programs that are entirely online, and don’t require setting foot once in a classroom.  And, of course, there are online universities that offer all of their programs entirely through Internet based distance-learning.

Finally, graduate programs are catching up.  There are now Masters and PhD programs that are designed to be completed entirely through distance learning methods.

Finding Masters and PhD Programs Online

If you’re interested in pursing your Masters degree, or your PhD, through online programs, there are some things you should watch out for.  There are plenty of legitimate online programs–which, of course, means that that their availability has spawned numerous unsavory imitators in diploma mills and fakes which promise you a graduate diploma in 6 weeks or less, etc. etc.

When you’re searching for Masters and PhD programs for your own further education, make sure to enroll in one that is credible.  There are some traditional colleges that offer online programs; there are also reputable colleges and universities that conduct all of their programs online.

Making Sure Masters and PhD Programs are the Real Deal

Accreditation is key to being sure the program you choose is going to be recognized as the accomplishment it should be.  Only programs accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations which are recognized by the U. S. Department of Education are universally accepted.  That’s not to say other programs are no good, but if you choose a program that is otherwise accredited, do considerable research into the accrediting association and the track record for the recognition of degrees issued by the institution in question.
