The University of the Rockies’ on line PhD degree program in Criminology and Justice Studies requires 62-68 credit hours and a 3.0 GPA to graduate.  Terms are six weeks, and students take only one course per term.  Courses include juvenile justice, research methods, and addiction.  Students must also attend three in-residence weekends at the Colorado Springs campus.  180 hours of practicum is required at a site chosen by the student.  The site must be approved by the dean of the college.  Students are also required to prepare a dissertation.  The dissertation completion and defense spans five terms.
