MBA & DBA Accreditation Agencies
Business schools have to uphold quality and academic excellence. For this purpose, there are MBA and DBA accreditation agencies all over the world. What these agencies do is make sure that schools that offer MBA and DBA programs churn out nothing but impressive graduates.
Currently, there are several MBA and DBA accreditation agencies working to keep the quality of business students in many countries topnotch and world-class. One is the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business or the AACSB. This agency was founded almost a century ago. It has been accrediting business schools all over the world since 1919. Another accrediting agency for MBA and DBA schools is the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. This was established in 1988 and is currently based in Kansas. ACBSP accredits schools that focus on teaching and learning while AACSB accredits schools with an emphasis on research.
Another agency that accredits business schools all over the world is the European Quality Improvement System. This agency was founded in 1998 and has accredited 117 colleges and universities ever since. This agency is a lot stricter than AACSB. It focuses on the internationalization of institutions and the quality of the activities in said business schools. The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education is also another agency that accredits business schools, both graduate and undergraduate, all over the world. This agency was created in 1997. Schools applying for accreditation with this agency are analyzed according to eight categories. These are outcomes assessment, strategic planning, curriculum, faculty, scholarly and professional activities, resources, internal and external relationships, and educational innovation.
The Association of MBAs, on the other hand, focuses its accreditation on postgraduate business degrees. This was founded in 1967 and currently accredits schools in 72 nations all over the world.
In India, MBA and DBA schools are accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education. As of several years ago, more than a thousand business programs have been approved by the AICTE. This agency was established in 1945. It is not only in control of upholding quality education in business but also in technical disciplines, such as engineering.
